“Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.”

Jeremiah 15:16

Jan 02

Bideford

While traveling and serving the Lord, one of the things I’ve learned from the Lord is that man truly does not live by bread alone; he will truly live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God…otherwise known as God’s word or the Bible.  As I’ve learned to eat from it throughout the years I’ve found the words of Jeremiah to be true for my own heart, “Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart…”  God’s word has again and again been the reason for joy in my life, the fuel in my passion, and the sustenance of my spirit.

As Israel in the days of old, many parts of England have lost the word of the Lord. England used to be a spiritual giant of a nation; often the ground of many revivals in faith and the home of many great men and woman of God.  The once abundant nation for the Lord has forgotten the richness of the Bible while many generations have grown up not knowing anything of the Gospel or the Word.  As a result many are malnourished, spiritually they are starving, and as the Lord has opened the opportunity to go and preach the Word and share the Gospel, we have seen fruitfulness to our labor.  As the starving being weaned from hunger, we have seen a gradual response and reception of the Bread of Life with the people of North Devon, especially with the community of Bideford.  While teaching religious education courses in the colleges, or preaching the Gospel at outreaches, or simply doing Bible studies, we have seen the Spirit begin to nourish and bless these people.  As the Lord would allow, these are the type of things that would continue alongside of the faithful laborers in the community of Bideford, in addition to abiding with the Lord’s desire for the steps to come as by His grace the work bears fruit.
