So on Oct. 12, Juan, Dave and I went to the Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan.  Basically it was a time to look at new or “up and coming” audio equipment.  David and I were sent two passes to attend back in 2007, and last year. But due to being on tour last year, we weren’t able to make it.  When I got three passes this year, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity.

While there, we were able to meet with  manufacturer’s reps and ask them questions about their products that we have read about and wanted a little more info on.  Juan, our DJ, was really excited about one product in particular. The Novation “Launchpad”.   He uses Ableton for live performances, and below I’ve posted a video on this new Ableton Controller, the “Launchpad”:

This unit would be used to help us make beats for our music.  It looks great and is something we are praying towards possibly buying.  We also looked at some digital soundboards and other equipment.

There was definitely some equipment that is coming out that we feel would assist in our ministering through music.  So now that we’ve seen it, we’re praying for what stuff the Lord would want us to acquire, if anything!  It was a good time as we also got to tell some of those reps what we did and witness to them through a common bond of music!
